Job Overview The Occupational Therapist I provide occupational therapy services including evaluation, treatment, follow up and documentation using general competencies for inpatients and/or outpatients referred to the OT department. Provides supervision for therapy aides/assistants and students with specific patients or tasks as appropriate. Provides continuous consultation and education to families. The Occupational Therapist I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP). Additional Information Department Name: Highlands Ranch Therapy Job Status: Full-Time; 40 hours/week - eligible for benefits Shift: 4x10 hour shifts; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8am - 6pm Qualifications EDUCATION -Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field of study. EXPERIENCE - 3 years preferred experience with feeding and/or swallowing CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR LICENSURE -Colorado State Registration for Occupational Therapy - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy; Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment This position has been defined and is governed by the Children's Hospital Colorado Medical Staff bylaws,continuation of employment is contingent upon the review and approval of the Colorado Health Care Professionals Credential Application within 3 months of employment. Failure to successfully pass the credentialing process may result in the termination of your employment. Such positions include: Advanced Practice Providers, licensed professional counselors, or Adjunct Medical Staff. Responsibilities POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE Neonate - 30 days to 1yr Toddlers - >1yr to 3yrs Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs School age - >5yrs to 13yrs Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs Adult - >18yrs to 65yrs ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. Collaboration: Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools and other providers to ensure continu m of care for the child and optimal clinical services. Documentation: Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location and time frames. Evaluation/Re-evaluations: Independently evaluates children from birth to 21 years of age, with a variety of diagnosis, in specialized programs, on inpatient and/or outpatient units....
