Occupational Therapist – Acute Care
Location: Cumming, GA
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Compensation: $2,100 – $2,440 per week (Based on Experience)
Shift Details
- Day Shift – 4x10 Hour Shifts
- Schedule varies based on department needs
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekends every 4 weeks
- Holiday coverage required
Alternate Schedule Option Available:
- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday
- 4x10 Hour Shifts
- Hours may vary between:
- 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to support an Acute Care Occupational Therapy department within a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have recent acute care experience and the ability to work with a medically diverse patient population including ICU, neurological, stroke, orthopedic, and general medical patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients requiring occupational therapy services in an acute care environment
- Develop individualized treatment plans to improve functional independence and mobility
- Provide therapy services for patients with medical, surgical, neurological, orthopedic, and ICU-related conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Educate patients and families regarding therapy goals, adaptive strategies, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation within the EMR system
- Follow hospital safety protocols, infection prevention standards, and regulatory guidelines
Requirements
- Minimum 15–18 months of recent Occupational Therapy experience within specialty required
- Active Georgia Occupational Therapist License required
- AHA BLS Certification required
- Acute Care experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Cerner or One Chart EMR preferred
