Summary
This is a professional position within the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health. The Mental Health Housing Program Specialist will match clients to programs in the Mental Health (MH) Housing system in keeping with Departmental processes and priorities. This includes interacting with behavioral health providers, housing providers, and others as needed. The Mental Health Housing Program Specialist will also work with Allegheny County's Behavioral Health MCO and others, as needed, to ensure clients are offered appropriate BH services to be successful in their housing placement. The Mental Health Housing Program Specialist will also provide support and assistance as needed in other areas to ensure the success of DHS's OBH Mental Health Housing System.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitates admissions to the MH Housing programs in a timely manner utilizing an electronic referral system and other systems as needed.
  • Utilizes DHS's data-driven approach to client prioritization and placement.
  • Develops and improves existing strategies to support the daily operations and timeliness of the referrals, placements and exits from the MH Housing system.
  • Assists with identifying current system needs and implementation of new programs.
  • Informs the ongoing design, development, and enhancement of the DHS data tracking systems for the MH Housing System and others as needed.
  • Communicates with stakeholders as necessary to assure appropriate and timely MH Housing placements and appropriate MH supports to clients in their MH Housing placements and exits.
  • Utilizes data and analysis to inform decision making regarding transformation to the MH residential program services.
  • Performs other related duties as requested or required.

Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social service, Public Policy or equivalent education and experience.
Experience working with persons who have disabilities preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Act 33 and 34 clearances.

Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $55,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year.
