Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled OB Hospitalist to join our established team of physicians and advanced practice providers. This role will practice exclusively in the hospital setting, focusing on high-quality inpatient care and emergency management. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our community OB/GYNs to ensure 24/7 coverage and exceptional patient safety and outcomes.

What You Can Expect

  • Shift-Based Schedule: Predictable schedule with a set number of 24-hour shifts per month, allowing for significant time off.
  • Focus on Inpatient Care: Primarily responsible for evaluating and treating patients in triage/OBED, managing obstetric and gynecologic emergencies of the Mankato Clinic patients.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a strong team of 5 physicians and 3 APPs, supported by 24/7 anesthesia and pediatric hospitalist coverage.
  • Modern Facilities: Our clinic is connected to a 270-bed regional referral center featuring 9 spacious LDR rooms, 14 surgical suites (1 dedicated L&D OR), a Level II Special Care Nursery, and a dedicated L&D OR.
  • Quality & Safety Leadership: Opportunity to serve on patient safety and quality review committees and leadership committees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for hospitalized obstetric and gynecologic patients.
  • Monitor laboring patients, interpret fetal heart rate strips, and perform necessary procedures such as amniotomies or sonograms.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold an MD or DO degree, be board-certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and have completed an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency program. Eligibility for Minnesota state medical licensure is required. Current certifications in BLS and NRP are required. Essential qualities include strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
