Purpose & Scope:

The physician plays a vital role within the healthcare team, collaborating with colleagues to deliver comprehensive medical services to patients. Each physician's practice scope is determined by the credentialing and privileging committee of the health system.

This role involves supporting individual objectives, budgetary goals, and performance metrics.

The physician is responsible for all medical activities at the individual level, which includes the implementation of quality control standards, risk management, and compliance initiatives.

The primary duty of the physician is to provide timely, high-quality clinical care to patients who have chosen our organization, ensuring their needs are met effectively.

Education:

A Doctorate from an accredited medical institution is mandatory.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of experience in medical or surgical settings is required.

Certifications/Licensure:

Must hold a valid medical license issued by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.

Working Conditions:

Patient Care: The work is conducted in a well-lit and ventilated office or clinical environment. Employees may experience frequent interruptions and are subject to long hours and varying shifts. There may be occasions requiring work beyond standard hours, including overtime or on-call duties. Routine exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, hazardous chemicals, unpleasant odors, latex, and potential musculoskeletal injuries is expected. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided for situations involving exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious processes. Interaction with patients, family members, coworkers, and visitors may occur under various conditions, including those that are hostile or emotionally charged.
