Join our team at Missoula Bone & Joint and Surgery Center as an OA Clinical Assistant and play a vital role in delivering high-quality orthopedic care to our patients. In this hands-on clinical position, you will work closely with physicians and providers to support patient care throughout their visit, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and compassionate experience from start to finish. This role includes both direct provider support and assisting the OA team with room stocking and autoclaving.

This onsite opportunity allows you to be part of a collaborative clinical team in our modern Missoula, MT facility. Schedule:
PART TIME  27-30 hours per week 

Hours may vary by day and can include evenings and Saturdays as needed.

YOUR DAY AS AN OA CLINICAL ASSISTANT

OA Clinical Assistants play a vital role in supporting patients, providers, and Orthopedic Assistants throughout the day.

A typical day includes preparing exam rooms, stocking supplies, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring the clinic is ready for patients. Clinical Assistants help room patients, obtain vital signs and weights, assist with changing for exams, and support patients with mobility or toileting needs when necessary.

Throughout the day, they assist with referrals, paperwork, disability and FMLA forms, X-ray orders, and other clinic tasks. They also help coordinate urgent care patients, communicate with providers and schedulers, and ensure patients receive timely care.

In between patient visits, Clinical Assistants maintain a clean, safe environment by cleaning exam rooms, managing medical equipment, and following infection control and safety guidelines.

This fast-paced role requires flexibility, teamwork, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.

Skills & Experience:
The ideal Orthopedic Assistant is compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Successful candidates are organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. They work well independently with minimal supervision while collaborating closely with providers and team members. The ability to adapt to changing priorities, make timely decisions, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold patient confidentiality and safety standards is essential. Experience taking vital signs, assisting with patient transfers, and supporting direct patient care is highly valued.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience
  • Strong written, verbal, and telephone communication skills in English
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team while providing excellent patient care
  • Commitment to accuracy, timeliness, organization, and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CMA, RMA, EMT, ATC, CNA, or other relevant healthcare certification
  • Current state license or certification, if applicable
  • Completion of a nursing assistant program with State of Montana certification
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field may be considered
  • Computer literacy and electronic medical record experience
  • Orthopedic or specialty clinic experience preferred but not required
