Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Indiana Driver’s License with good driving record.
- Positive and mature attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have an interest in the well-being of residents and be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, and providers as well as other members of the caregiving team.
- Must be 25 years or older
Physical Demands:
- Frequent pushing and pulling of 100 pounds via wheelchairs and cots
- Frequent bending, stooping, and twisting
- Minimal lifting, over 25 pounds
- Frequent standing and sitting, 1-2 hours at a time
- Frequent walking
Responsibilities:
- Maintains a well-groomed appearance and practice good personal hygiene.
- Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability.
- Maintains a sense of responsibility and pride in the position.
- Knowledge of locations of various facilities.
- Knowledge of the general policies of the facility, including the fire/disaster emergency procedures.
- Knowledge and adherence to Indiana’s Drivers Laws and regulations
- Must practice safe driving by avoiding distractions, staying off cellular devices, utilizing seatbelts, etc. Ensures that all residents always utilize the seatbelt (No Exceptions)
- Provides resident confidentiality and safety while upholding resident rights.
- Participate in educational in-services and training provided by the facility.
- Manages time effectively
- Assist residents getting into and out of the vehicle. Must be able to operate the wheelchair lift/ramp
- Reports all incidents or accidents to Supervisor
- Must immediately call 911 if any injuries occur from accidents/incidents.
- Follows all traffic laws
- Other duties as assigned
