Nursing Transportation

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Indiana Driver’s License with good driving record.
• Positive and mature attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have an interest in the well-being of residents and be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, and providers as well as other members of the caregiving team.
• Must be 25 years or older

Physical Demands:

• Frequent pushing and pulling of 100 pounds via wheelchairs and cots
• Frequent bending, stooping, and twisting
• Minimal lifting, over 25 pounds
• Frequent standing and sitting, 1-2 hours at a time
• Frequent walking

Responsibilities:

• Maintains a well-groomed appearance and practice good personal hygiene.
• Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability.
• Maintains a sense of responsibility and pride in the position.
• Knowledge of locations of various facilities.
• Knowledge of the general policies of the facility, including the fire/disaster emergency procedures.
• Knowledge and adherence to Indiana’s Drivers Laws and regulations
• Must practice safe driving by avoiding distractions, staying off cellular devices, utilizing seatbelts, etc. Ensures that all residents always utilize the seatbelt (No Exceptions)
• Provides resident confidentiality and safety while upholding resident rights.
• Participate in educational in-services and training provided by the facility.
• Manages time effectively
• Assist residents getting into and out of the vehicle. Must be able to operate the wheelchair lift/ramp
• Reports all incidents or accidents to Supervisor
• Must immediately call 911 if any injuries occur from accidents/incidents.
• Follows all traffic laws
• Other duties as assigned
