Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nursing Director Surgical Services to lead perioperative and cardiovascular service operations within an acute care hospital setting in Bartlett, Tennessee. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing nursing operations, patient care quality, staff competency, and operational performance across surgical services departments.
The Director will provide leadership support to executive nursing leadership while ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centered care delivery across assigned clinical units.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and operational oversight for Surgical Services and Cardiovascular Services
Support strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practices across multiple units
Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance
Manage staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and departmental performance
Collaborate with executive leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Monitor patient care outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives
Support competency development and performance management for clinical staff
Ensure efficient operational workflow and patient throughput
Serve as a role model and advocate for nursing excellence and professional practice
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Minimum 2 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in a hospital setting required
Minimum 3 years of Operating Room (OR) or Surgical Services experience required
Associate degree in Nursing plus bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field or BSN required
Strong hospital operations and leadership experience required
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Required Certifications
Current BLS certification required upon hire
ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire for applicable nursing units
Additional certifications may be required based on assigned clinical departments and hospital policy
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
Previous director-level leadership experience preferred
Experience overseeing OR and Cardiovascular Services strongly preferred
