Title: Nursing Director - Inpatient Care
Location: York, ME
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday through Friday
Weekly Gross: Up to $3400/week (Based on experience)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nursing Director to provide leadership and operational oversight for Inpatient Services, including:
- Medical/Surgical Units
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
The Nursing Director is responsible for ensuring excellence in patient care, nursing quality, patient safety, staffing, operational performance, and regulatory compliance. This role assumes 24-hour accountability for departmental operations and collaborates closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for inpatient nursing services
- Oversee Medical/Surgical and ICU nursing operations
- Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning
- Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Oversee departmental budgets and resource utilization
- Collaborate with physicians and hospital leadership
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Promote patient- and family-centered care
- Mentor, coach, and develop nursing staff and leaders
Requirements
Education
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Required
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) Preferred
Licensure
- Active Maine RN License Required
OR - Active Compact RN License
- License must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing
Certifications
- BLS (AHA) Required
- ACLS Required
- Specialty Certification Preferred
- Leadership Certification Preferred
Experience
- Previous Nursing Leadership experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing inpatient nursing services preferred
- Med/Surg and/or ICU leadership experience highly desirable
