What does a Nursing Attendant III do?
Provides prescribed care involving the application of an extensive body of specialized treatment techniques to patients in an inpatient care unit.

Requirements to Qualify.
One (1) year of experience at the level of Nursing Attendant II.
Experience at the level of Los Angeles County classification of Nursing Attendant II is defined as: Provides prescribed nursing care and limited technical services such as collecting and monitoring clinical data, performing basic medical procedures and treatments, operation of medical technology and equipment, and/or health information technology & communication.
Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) issued by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).*
A current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) issued by the American Heart Association.*
PHYSICAL CLASS: IV - Arduous: This class involves frequent heavy lifting over 25 pounds, often combined with bending, twisting, or working above ground on irregular surfaces. It includes those positions that occasionally demand extraordinary physical activity such as those in Safety positions.
Desirable qualifications:
Additional credit will be awarded to applicants who possess additional experience at the level of Nursing Attendant II.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION:
Ensure the Certificates and Licenses Section of the application is completed. List the title, license number, issue date, expiration date, and issuing agencies for all required certificates. Required certificates must be active and unrestricted, or your application will not be accepted.
No Out-of-class experience and withhold will be allowed for this examination. Required experience and certifications must be fully met and valid at the time of filing and clearly indicated on the application.

EXAMINATION CONTENT:
This assessment type will evaluate the training, experience, desirable qualifications, and license/certificate you list on your application and supplemental questionnaire, and assign a score based on a standardized scoring system. This assessment is worth 100% of your total score.
Candidates need to achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on the examination in order to be placed on the eligible register.
ELIGIBILITY AND VACANCY INFORMATION:

Applicants who pass the assessment(s) are placed on an eligible register for a period of twelve (12) months. We will use this list to fill vacancies throughout the Department of Health Services as they occur.
SPECIAL INFORMATION:
Appointees may be required to work any shift, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
