Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Nursing Assistant (NA), you will perform essential direct patient care, working under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse, often while actively pursuing your Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Every day you will provide comprehensive patient care, including bathing, oral care, feeding, ambulation, and monitoring vital signs. You will also manage other duties such as inventory, documentation, clerical tasks, dietary assistance, light housekeeping, and computer input, directly supporting the nursing unit's operational needs.
To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong capability for basic patient care, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in all tasks, and effectively collaborate within the nursing team to ensure optimal patient well-being and a supportive care environment, showcasing dedication to advancing your healthcare career.
Collects laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol, maintaining hospital standard of zero tolerance for
mislabeled specimens.
Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested.
Assists in patient/equipment preparation.
Performs follow-up actions as directed.
Monitors and records patient vital signs, weight, positioning, ADL's, I&O, activity and blood glucose readings per
RN instructions, hospital protocols, and standards of care and notifies RN/physician of abnormalities.
Records readings in an accurate and timely manner.
Reports to the RN, physician, supervisor, nurse manager, or preceptor.
Addresses the physiological, psychosocial and spiritual needs of each patient and communicate with RN,
Physicians, Social Worker/ Case Management, and/or Chaplain Services as appropriate.
Collaborates with RN in implementation of plan.
Reviews and implements the multi-disciplinary Plan of Care for each patient.

Initiates orders according to time performance standards: STAT - Within 5 minutes, Discharge/Transfer - within
10 minutes, Routine - within 30 minutes.
