    Our 50-bed Medical-Surgical unit provides an ideal environment for both new and experienced nursing assistants to develop strong patient care skills and expand their clinical knowledge. The unit serves a diverse population of medical and surgical patients, creating a fast-paced and engaging atmosphere. This setting offers valuable opportunities to build hands-on experience, strengthen communication and teamwork, and support high-quality patient care across a wide range of conditions and treatments.

    Summary

    The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period. The NA provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patient under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

    Qualifications

    High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.* Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specificcompetencies and certifications.If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training/competency validation or a maximum of four months from the date of initial employment.If working in Wisconsin, must be on the Wisconsin Nurse Aid Registry with current work eligibility.
