Minimum Qualifications

Six months of experience or training in patient care; OR

Possession of a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate; OR

Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing, Practical Nursing, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician Program.

NOTE:

Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require that applicants possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Assist with documenting the admission of new patients into the medical record.

  • Provides care to patients such as ambulating, feeding, bathing, positioning, and lifting.

  • Sterilize equipment and supplies.

  • Measures temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, and weight; records in the patients medical record.

Position-Specific Details:

Location: This position is located in the Nursing Department of the LA Veterans Home in Jackson, Louisiana.

Appointment Type: WAE / Part Time (not to exceed 1,245 hours in a 12-month period)

Work Schedule: Alternating Shifts (6:00 AM to 6:30 PM / 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM). Schedule may vary depending on your availability and need to cover shifts.

Compensation: Salary offered is $15.00 hourly & Shift Differentials.
