The Sinclair Nursing Department is seeking an Annually Contracted Faculty member to join Sinclair's Health Sciences Division beginning Fall 2026.
Annually Contracted Faculty (ACF) appointments are full-time, temporary positions limited to one academic year. Appointments are not automatically awarded for subsequent years, but rather, are awarded on a year-by-year basis at the sole discretion of Sinclair Community College.
There are multiple vacancies for this role.
All full-time faculty salaries are determined by the Provost's Office and are commensurate with education and experience.
This position is open only to applicants who reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform work within one of these states. Sinclair Community College restricts employment to approved states due to employment, tax, and benefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities
Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needs
Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
Maintain accurate records of student progress
Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
Maintain confidentiality of student information
Teach a minimum of 15 payload hours per semester for both fall and spring semesters
This is equivalent to a 40 hour work week
Work closely with the department chair to implement the policies of the department and college
Scholarship and Professional Growth
Maintain and seek to improve currency and competence in the discipline and as a teacher
Participate in department, division and college-wide meetings
Maintain office hours and respond to student inquiries in a timely and effective manner
Committee service is not required
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum of a master's degree in nursing requiredOR must meet the specific requirements associated with Tested Experience
Tested Experience Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing required AND widely accepted experience specific to the field of the course to be taught
Must possess and maintain Ohio Registered Nurse Licensure required
Must have 3 years of nursing practice experience required
Evidence of successful prior teaching experience; must have 2 years of teaching experience preferred
Must have current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification by date of hire required
Immunization Requirements upon hire required
Demonstrated commitment to teach a concept-based curriculum with application across the life span with different patient populations in Didactic, Laboratory and Clinical settings required
Ability to work in groups required
Ability to use technology in a variety of modalities such as instructional support, research, and communication required
Ability to utilize Human Patient Simulators or similar high technology simulation for use in classroom and laboratory settings preferred
Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level
Effective communication skills required
A contract for employment will not be issued without receiving official transcripts for all post-secondary degrees
