Position: Nursery worker Requirements: Must have a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire. Clean driving record required Job description: Assist in the production of horticultural plants at a commercial greenhouse. Quickly work the line, filling flats, labeling, planting, and moving products in accordance to plans and schedules set forth by production personnel. Lift, carry, and transport materials and supplies between receiving stations, warehouse and production areas. Drive industrial vehicles to transfer supplies and materials. Operating manual equipment such as hand jacks and wheeled carts safely. Maintain vehicles and material handling equipment in a safe and good working condition. Load trucks according to need and delivery location. Organize product on docks for truck loading. Unload truck deliveries and Inspect contents to identify any damages. Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner. Water and maintain plant health. Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards. Mange housekeeping activities when requested. Collect and dispose garbage and maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment. Anticipated hours of work per week: 40 hours per week Schedule: A general work week is Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. However, because of the complexity of the crop conditions workers may be requested to work long days as well as on Saturdays, Sundays or Federal Holidays, depending upon the conditions of the commodities being produced. Therefore, hours above 40 per week may be offered but are not guaranteed.
