Nursery Technician
Location: Springfield Nursery Lexington, SC
Pay: $16.00–$18.00 per hour
Reports To: Distribution Technician

Job Overview The Nursery Technician supports daily production and yard operations at Springfield Nursery. This position is responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient nursery, preparing plant materials for upcoming projects, assisting with inventory movement, and supporting overall production goals. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable working outdoors, and able to safely operate nursery equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties -Maintain nursery grounds, work areas, and storage areas to ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment. -Pull, organize, and stage plant packages according to daily work orders and production schedules. -Build and maintain irrigation kits according to established inventory levels. -Safely and efficiently load and unload plants, trees, irrigation materials, and other nursery products. -Assist with receiving, stocking, moving, and organizing inventory throughout the nursery. -Ensure plants and materials are stored in the appropriate locations and are easily accessible for daily operations. -Safely operate tractors, skid steers, forklifts, and other nursery equipment as trained and authorized. -Assist with general plant care and nursery production activities as needed. -Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment. -Communicate inventory needs, damaged materials, equipment concerns, and other operational issues to the Nursery Manager. -Work collaboratively with nursery team members and other company divisions to support production schedules and project needs. -Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily nursery operations and production goals.
Qualifications -Previous nursery, landscaping, agricultural, warehouse, or equipment operation experience is preferred but not required. -Ability to safely operate or learn to operate tractors, skid steers, forklifts, and other nursery equipment. -Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. -Ability to follow work orders, instructions, and established procedures. -Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team. -Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. -Valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record are preferred.
Physical Requirements -Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. -Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday. -Ability to safely load, unload, move, and handle plants, trees, irrigation materials, and nursery products. -Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, direct sunlight, dust, and humidity.
