Position Summary:
The Emergency Trauma Nurse Technician provides direct patient-care support within the Emergency/Trauma Center under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role assists with basic treatments, procedures, patient monitoring, and comfort measures for individuals experiencing emergent or urgent conditions. Working closely with nurses and the interdisciplinary emergency care team, the Emergency Trauma Nurse Technician helps maintain a well-organized, responsive care environment by supporting patient flow, communication, and readiness. The role also performs essential clerical tasks and ensures supplies, equipment, and treatment rooms are properly stocked and prepared to support efficient care delivery. The Emergency Trauma Nurse Technician frequently stands, walks, bends, and assists with patient movement in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The role may involve lifting, turning, or transferring patients and handling equipment such as stretchers and wheelchairs. Adequate strength, mobility, vision, hearing, and communication abilities are necessary to respond quickly, provide safe patient care, and support emergency procedures.
Environmental Requirements:
Work occurs in a high-intensity emergency and trauma setting with exposure to infectious diseases, blood and bodily fluids, cleaning chemicals, and frequent alarms or emergent situations. The role requires consistent use of PPE, adherence to safety and decontamination protocols, and the ability to remain calm and focused during critical events. Variable workloads, rapid pacing, and unpredictable clinical needs are inherent to the environment.
