Position Overview
Within established protocols and delegation of authority, the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is responsible for promoting health, treating disease, and establishing and maintaining individual treatment plans for patients of the practice. This position reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer with possible clinical supervision from a physician of Carolina Family Health Centers Inc.
Job Benefits
This position offers a 40-hour workweek, no weekends, full benefits package, sign-on bonus, on-call pay, 12 paid holidays, bi-weekly pay, and potential for state/federal loan repayment.
Essential Tasks
• Participate in the development of the Centers health care plan based on need, resources, epidemiology, and health behaviors of the targeted population. • Reports to the CMO any problems in the day-to-day clinical operations or the practice with the ability to adversely affect the quality of patient care. • Works with the healthcare team to promote good public relations and cultivates cooperative relationships within the healthcare community. • Follows established drug formulary in prescribing and adjusting medications according to therapeutic goals. • Follows procedures established to maintain a system of comprehensive, accurate, and timely problem-oriented medical records. • In the care of patients, obtains complete medical history, pertinent family and social history on all new clients. • Routinely provide information and documentation that is sufficient to maximize reimbursement and minimize the risk of adverse audit outcomes. • Provide all necessary information required for Medicare, Medicaid, and HMO credentialing. • Prescribes and adjusts patient medications according to therapeutic goals. • Document drug therapy in patient medical records per established procedures.
Requirements
• Graduate from an accredited program with credentialing through the Physician Assistant Association or American Nurses Association. • Approval from the North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. • Demonstrated competence to perform the duties of an advanced practice healthcare provider. • An active North Carolina License along with a DEA registration.
Schedule and Physical Requirements
• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, 8-hour shift, day shift • Physical Requirements: • Individuals may need to sit or stand for long periods of time, occasional bending, stooping, lifting, including of patients, reaching forwards and overhead. • Possibly requires walking primarily on a level service for periods throughout the day. • Both proper lifting techniques and frequent computer work are required. • Must be able to travel freely in the local area between clinics, hospitals, health departments, etc.

Base Pay Overview
• The starting pay for this position is $102,000.00. • Please keep in mind that actual salary will vary based on various factors such as qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the roles.
