ApplyJob TypeFull-timeDescriptionUniversity Physicians Association is looking for a full-time, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for Edmunds Gastroenterology.The Practitioner consults with both new patients and established patients who have issues of the digestive tract, liver, and pancreas. Candidate will have a close working relationship with the supervising physician to ensure patient care standards are met throughout the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of gastrointestinal diseases for the patient. In all interactions, the Practitioner ensures the first and lasting impression of Edmunds Gastroenterology where we recognize the value of every person and are guided by our commitment to excellence.Primary/Essential Job Functions:Examine patients and establish a medical diagnosis by reviewing client history including patient assessment, complaints and physical examination.Provide and coordinate care for patients throughout the continuum of care to assure that care is timely, appropriate, of high quality and cost effective.Identify, develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care for a patient to promote, maintain, and restore a healthy GI tract.Nurse Practitioner treats patients, colleagues and staff with respect and courtesy.Skills and Competencies:Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issuesMaintain current CPR or BCLS certificationComply with the Tennessee Board of Nursing Standards of ConductCompliant with HIPAA policies and guidelinesDemonstrate the ability to analyze complex situations and apply policyDemonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate proficiency with computers and electronic health recordsWork and contribute successfully within a diverse work and business environmentFull benefit package available, including PTO, Sick Leave, Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Life Insurance, 401k with company match and immediate vesting, Critical Illness, and more!RequirementsNon- restricted state license for RN and RNP including prescribing privileges and DEA number.
