Position Overview:
Henry Ford Health Detroit is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Psychiatry Consult Liaison team. This day shift position provides the opportunity to deliver comprehensive psychiatric consultation services for hospitalized patients across a variety of medical and surgical specialties, collaborating closely with psychiatrists and the interdisciplinary care team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. The APP will perform psychiatric assessments, develop treatment plans, manage psychiatric conditions, and coordinate care to support patients with complex behavioral health needs. The primary practice location is Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, with occasional coverage at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. Behavioral health experience is required, while addiction medicine experience and previous Nurse Practitioner experience are strongly preferred. Candidates should be able to practice autonomously, demonstrate flexibility, and thrive in a collaborative inpatient environment.

Qualifications:
Behavioral Health Experience preferred
Addiction Medicine Experience strongly preferred
NP or PA graduate from an accredited program
Current (or in-process) Michigan licensure
National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA)
BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire)
Credentials:
Education & Training
Physician Assistant (PA): Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
Nurse Practitioner (NP): Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
Licensure
Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required).
Certification
PA: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
NP: National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan
(e.g., ANCC, AANP)
Mental Health: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification (PMHNP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
Required Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) - required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - required (may be obtained after hire)
DEA / Controlled Substance Licensure
PA: DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing
NP: DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
