Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant | Brighton Center for Recovery | Full-Time | Days

Location: Henry Ford Brighton Center for Recovery

Status: Full-Time | Days

Call/Weekends: Rotating weekend coverage with some on-call requirements

Position Overview:

Henry Ford Health System is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Behavioral Health Recovery Center team in Brighton, MI. This role focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with substance use disorders, including medication-assisted treatment, recovery planning, patient education, and ongoing care coordination. The APP will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment alongside physicians, behavioral health providers, nurses, and support staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. This day-shift position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting patients throughout their recovery journey. Candidates must have a minimum of one-two years of addiction medicine experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of addiction medicine experience as an APP required
  • NP or PA graduate from an accredited program
  • Current (or in-process) Michigan licensure
  • National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA)
  • BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire)

Credentials:

Education & Training

  • Physician Assistant (PA): Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP): Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)

Licensure

  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required).

Certification

  • PA: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • NP: National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan

(e.g., ANCC, AANP)

Required Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - required (may be obtained after hire)

DEA / Controlled Substance Licensure

  • PA: DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing
  • NP: DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
