We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our Pediatric Rheumatology team at Riley Children's Health! Our practice locations serve several communities across the state of Indiana, including Indianapolis, Carmel, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. 

Details:

  • Full-Time, Day Shift 
    • 40 hours per week
    • No weekends or call 
  • 15% inpatient & 85% outpatient setting
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team of 6 physicians and 7 support staff
  • Patient population includes children and adolescents with a wide range of autoimmune, inflammatory and rheumatic conditions. Patients include those with juvenile arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, vasculitis, dermatomyositis, and other complex diseases that affect the joints, muscles, skin, and immune system. The practice also cares for children with rare autoinflammatory and genetic disorders, such as Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF), TRAPS, NOMID, and recurrent fever syndromes

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical exams, and assessing disease activity.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage children with rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions under established clinical guidelines and collaborative practice agreements.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications and monitoring response to therapy.
  • Review and interpret laboratory results, imaging studies, and diagnostic tests.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, disease management, and treatment expectations.
  • Manage medication prior authorizations, specialty medications, and biologic therapies as needed.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, infusion services, therapists, primary care providers, and other specialists.
  • Respond to patient calls, messages, and urgent clinical concerns, providing timely assessment and recommendations.
  • Monitor patients for medication side effects, disease progression, and treatment effectiveness.
  • Document clinical encounters accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and ongoing professional development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required 
  • Must be BE or BC
  • ACNP, PNP, FNP, or PA certification required
