Our growing Pediatric Neuroscience office is seeking multiple motivated full-time advanced nurse practitioners or physician assistants to join our team. We are looking for responsible practitioners who are willing to learn and grow with our Neurology and Neurosurgery team. Each practitioner will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating and educating parents, teachers, and patients, while working closely with the physicians. Must be certified for Family or Pediatric care. We are willing to train the right person!


Compensation is determined based on experience.


Responsibilities:


  • Nurse Practitioners (NP’s) and Physician Assistants (PA’s) are responsible for providing and improving patient care.
  • Maintains licenses as needed for NJ State, DEA and CDS.
  • Maintains privileges at hospitals covered by physicians.
  • Works alongside physicians in office setting and hospitals setting
  • Assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating, and educating pediatric patients and parents.
  • Communicates with patients, families, nursing and clinical staff and other healthcare providers and documents conversations.
  • Identifies short-term and long-term patient care issues.
  • Provides information pertinent to patient care decisions.
  • Recommends and provides options and courses of action involving patient care.
  • Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans with attending physicians.
  • Assesses and evaluates patients health and neurological function by obtaining history and performing physical examinations with detailed neurological examinations.
  • Evaluates neurological conditions by ordering appropriate diagnostic tests: x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, laboratory studies, etc. and interpreting and communicating test results.
  • Initiates and Monitors patient progress, selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultations and laboratory examination, prescribes and alters medication regimens, interprets findings and alters plan of care according to collaborative practice agreement and protocols in designated area.
  • Provides teaching and counseling in the areas of health promotion, maintenance, disease prevention, and management of acute/chronic illnesses.
  • Issues appropriate prescriptions and medications, as necessary.
  • Documents patient care services by charting patient and department records.
  • Covers on-call schedule as needed and as available.
  • Works with NJPNI staff to develop and promote the practice.
  • Contributes articles, research projects, mentoring opportunities.
  • Volunteers as needed for hospital committees and other leadership positions.
  • Maintains membership in appropriate professional societies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Starting Salary: $110,000-$160,000. depending on experience
