QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program.
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Operating Room Registered Nurse experience within the past 5 years.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide professional nursing care throughout the perioperative process, including pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-operative patient care.
  • Circulate a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety.
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during routine, complex, and emergency surgical procedures.
  • Prepare operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled cases.
  • Monitor patients and respond appropriately to changes in clinical condition throughout the surgical procedure.
  • Assist with moderate (conscious) sedation procedures as required.
  • Support infusion therapy services and post-anesthesia patient recovery as appropriate.
  • Accurately document patient care utilizing the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgical technicians, anesthesia staff, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Adhere to Joint Commission standards, infection prevention protocols, military treatment facility policies, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Participate in orientation, mandatory training, competency validation, and quality improvement activities.
