    Position Summary

    The Manager of Med/Surg/Telemetry is responsible for overseeing clinical and operational functions within the department. This leader will help ensure efficient workflow, strong team performance, regulatory compliance, and excellent patient care outcomes.

    The ideal candidate is organized, clinically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a high-volume acute care setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership and oversight for the Med/Surg/Telemetry department
    • Support safe, high-quality, patient-centered care delivery
    • Help coordinate departmental operations, workflow, and staff performance
    • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role
    • Communicate effectively with staff, patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
    • Use sound judgment to define problems, gather data, and reach appropriate conclusions
    • Ensure accurate documentation and attention to operational detail
    • Support compliance with hospital standards, policies, and clinical expectations
    • Utilize computer systems effectively in support of departmental operations
    • Interpret or develop competency in basic telemetry/EKG monitoring requirements

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of recent department-specific experience in Med/Surg/Telemetry required
    • Prior charge nurse or supervisory experience in a related department preferred
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
    • Strong computer skills required
    • High attention to detail and accuracy required
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field required
    • Master’s degree in a related field preferred

    Licensure & Certifications

    • Current California RN license required
    • Current BLS certification required
    • Current ACLS certification required
    • Basic EKG/telemetry interpretation experience required, or willingness to complete a Basic EKG course within six months of employment

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Base salary range of $136,747 - $198,283
