Summary:
- The Nurse Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing nursing practice and operations for the assigned department. The role ensures high-quality, age-appropriate patient care; effective resource utilization; regulatory compliance; and the development and engagement of nursing staff. The Nurse Manager serves as a clinical and leadership role model with 24/7 accountability.
Responsibilities:
- Patients, families, nursing staff, ancillary/support staff, physicians, leadership, and all hospital departments.

- EDUCATION
- • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required OR must be completed within 3 years of hire.
- EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3-5 years nursing leadership experience, including coaching and performance management.
- LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION
- • Current RN license in North Carolina.
- • National certification preferred.
- OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- • Strong clinical knowledge, leadership skills, communication abilities, EHR/computer literacy, and professional presence.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Includes exposure to pathogens, chemicals, equipment, and frequent physical activity (standing, lifting, pushing, etc.).
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Continuously standing, walking, sitting majority of workday. Some carrying, pushing, pulling, lifting involved in day-to-day activities. Sufficiently mobile to push stretchers, wheelchairs, carts and equipment. Visual acuity necessary; hearing and talking necessary for communication. Lift and position patients of all weights and heights.
