Summary:

Location: New York, NY

Work Schedule: Evening Shift 3pm-11pm

Responsibilities:

  • Lead nursing practice using the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care and the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) and role model expected behaviors.
  • Ensure integration of PHR into clinical activities to enhance Relationship Centered Care.
  • Validate staff members round hourly on all patients through direct observation and patient feedback.
  • Assess staff competency in PHR and provide consistent meaningful feedback.
  • Conduct rounding of all patients daily (Monday-Friday).
  • Communicate quantitative and qualitative information regarding patient experience and staff engagement to the team.
  • Collaborate with the physician dyad and escalate concerns as appropriate.
  • Follow up on all patient concerns in a timely manner and provide service recovery as needed.
  • Role model Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care (MSHRCC) actions such as Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and more.
  • Huddle with staff at the start of each shift, identifying high-risk patients.
  • Initiate service recovery for patients and family members who have concerns.
  • Interpret and communicate patient experience scores and benchmarks to the staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing required.
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing clinical care experience with Charge Nurse/Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Relevant clinical competence in area of nursing practice assigned.
  • Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in emergency department settings.
  • Master's in nursing or health-related field preferred.
