Summary:

  • 7:30 am - 4 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Lead nursing practice using the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care and the Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and role model behaviors in Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR).
  • Integrate PHR into clinical activities to enhance Relationship Centered Care.
  • Validate staff members' hourly rounds on all patients through direct observation and patient feedback.
  • Assess staff competency in PHR and provide consistent feedback.
  • Conduct daily rounding of all patients (Monday-Friday).
  • Communicate patient experience and staff engagement information to develop and implement action plans.
  • Collaborate with the physician dyad and escalate concerns as appropriate.
  • Address patient concerns promptly and provide service recovery as needed.
  • Role model Relationship Centered Care through various actions including Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and more.
  • Huddle with staff at the start of each shift, identifying high-risk patients.
  • Communicate concerns to nursing leadership and initiate service recovery as needed.
  • Interpret and communicate patient experience scores and benchmarks.
  • Empower staff to use evidence-based practices to understand patients’ perceptions of care.

Requirements:

  • MSN required.
  • Psychiatric experience required.
  • Travel experience required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Design and lead a safe, therapeutic, and efficient patient-centered care environment.
  • Identify and investigate issues or variances in practice/operations.
  • Lead interdisciplinary quality improvement teams using high-reliability principles.
  • Review unit progress, changes, and compliance with quality and safety metrics.
  • Respond to escalations of potential safety hazards or gaps from best practice.
  • Monitor and correct gaps in clinical nurse documentation.
  • Lead staff participation in quality and safety initiatives and mandated compliance measures.
  • Demonstrate accountability for all unit quality and safety practices and compliance.
