Job Title: Nurse Manager – Labor & Delivery

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager – Labor & Delivery (L&D) to lead clinical operations in Florence, AL. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, deep expertise in L&D practices, and a commitment to delivering high-quality maternal and neonatal care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit
  • Lead, mentor, and manage nursing staff and clinical teams
  • Ensure adherence to L&D protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate patient care and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitor staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and accreditation standards
  • Handle performance management, staff development, and conflict resolution
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience
  • Certifications required:
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
  • Prior leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager level)
  • Strong understanding of OR processes and L&D protocols
  • Clean and active nursing license (no disciplinary actions)
Nice-To-Have Qualifications
  • Experience in other nursing areas such as ICU
  • 10+ years of overall nursing experience
Required Skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • In-depth clinical expertise in L&D and maternal care
  • Knowledge of OR processes and patient safety protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and make critical decisions
  • Strong organizational and operational management skills
Education & Certification
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (required)
  • Active RN License (Alabama or compact state preferred)
  • Required certifications: NRP, ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
