Overview
A high-volume women's services program in the Corpus Christi area is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager to oversee daily clinical operations, staffing, and patient care delivery across a busy obstetrical services environment.
This leadership role supports Labor & Delivery operations within a comprehensive women's and neonatal care program that includes NICU services, surgical obstetrics, and graduate medical education exposure. The Nurse Manager will work closely with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to drive patient safety, operational performance, staff engagement, and quality outcomes.
The ideal candidate has recent acute care Labor & Delivery leadership experience and is comfortable leading large teams within a fast-paced women's services environment.

Labor & Delivery
Part of a large multi-campus healthcare system serving the Coastal Bend region
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations, staffing coordination, and patient care delivery within Labor & Delivery services
Support nursing staff through leadership, mentoring, coaching, and clinical guidance
Ensure nursing care delivery aligns with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based obstetrical practices
Monitor patient outcomes, quality metrics, and departmental performance initiatives
Collaborate with physicians, neonatal teams, surgical staff, and interdisciplinary leadership
Support hiring, staff development, retention, and performance management initiatives
Participate in rotating leadership call responsibilities for women's services departments
Drive patient-centered care initiatives and operational improvements across the unit
Qualifications
Required
Active RN license
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or RN Diploma
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care Labor & Delivery leadership experience within the last year
Strong operational leadership and team management skills
Preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Previous leadership experience within high-volume women's services programs
Experience overseeing staffing, patient throughput, and quality initiatives in obstetrics
