Brooklyn community hospital seeks a Nurse Manager for their Labor & Delivery unit to lead a high-performing maternal health team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional patient care, driving quality outcomes, and supporting staff development in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Labor & Delivery unit, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care for mothers and newborns.
Manage day-to-day unit operations, including staffing, scheduling, patient flow, resource allocation, and regulatory compliance.
Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff through coaching, performance management, education, and professional development initiatives.
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and enhance the patient experience.
Monitor quality metrics, patient safety indicators, and departmental performance, implementing process improvement initiatives as needed.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, evidence-based practices, Joint Commission standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and departmental initiatives to support organizational goals and growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required**
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related healthcare field preferred**
Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Previous leadership experience in Labor & Delivery, Women's Services, or Maternal Child Health required
Strong clinical, operational, and team leadership skills with a commitment to excellence in patient care
Salary: $140,000 - $170,000
