Nurse Manager

Position Summary:

The Manager - Surgical Quality Programs (Manager) is responsible for organizing the quality activities related to surgery and other procedures across all specialties and Centers of Excellence for the purpose of facilitating the sharing of data and information across procedural specialties, providing structure around surgical quality activities, collecting data and reporting performance to evaluate, control, and improve patient health care and service outcomes, and meeting organizational and regulatory standards, including but not limited to the Joint Commission and the ACS Quality Verification Program. Activities include providing the primary administrative support for the functions of the Surgical Quality and Safety Committee, reviewing quality assurance standards, abstracting, entering, analyzing, and reporting outcomes and service data, coordinating quality activities with other Centers of Excellence, evaluating existing policies and processes, researching best practices, and developing and implementing action plans. The Manager will also have direct management responsibility for the Bariatric Services team, which is responsible for all activities related to supporting patients and providers throughout the bariatric surgery process as well as maintaining all activities required as a verified Bariatric Surgery program.

Position Qualification:

Masters, Nursing - preferred

Bachelors, Nursing - required

4-10 years experience Healthcare/Medical - Nurse: Registered Nurse Required

Minimum experience of 2-5 years as a practicing nurse, preferably in a Perioperative or procedural department or other certified/licensed healthcare professional in hospital environment (academic setting helpful).

Working knowledge of accreditation or verification programs - structure, requirements - and/or hospital accreditation process preferred. History of effective team leadership, involvement with performance improvement processes strongly preferred.

Administrative skills are required (computer skills, working with data, facilitating meetings, organizing information, writing skills).
