    Position Overview

    A large, integrated healthcare system is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead Labor and Delivery operations at a high-volume obstetric unit. The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader who thrives in a fast-paced maternal-newborn environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes and staff development.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide operational and clinical leadership for the Labor and Delivery unit on a 24/7 basis
    • Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure safe patient care delivery
    • Lead, coach, and develop nursing staff through performance management and professional development initiatives
    • Oversee quality metrics, patient safety programs, and regulatory compliance (TJC, state)
    • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to advance maternal-newborn outcomes
    • Manage unit budget including labor cost control and supply utilization
    • Drive implementation of evidence-based practices and obstetric safety bundles

    Requirements

    • Active RN license in California (or compact licensure eligible)
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred
    • 3+ years of clinical nursing experience in Labor and Delivery
    • 2+ years of nursing leadership or management experience
    • Current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications

    Preferred Qualifications

    • MSN or graduate degree in nursing or healthcare administration
    • RNC-OB or C-EFM certification
    • Experience in a Magnet-designated or large health system setting
    • Familiarity with Epic clinical documentation
