Nurse Manager II – Operating Room (OR) is responsible for leading clinical operations, patient care delivery, and administrative functions within a high-acuity surgical environment. This role ensures safe, high-quality, and compliant patient care while driving operational excellence, staff development, and continuous improvement across OR services.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop OR nursing staff and leadership teams
- Drive performance management, coaching, and succession planning
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture across multidisciplinary teams
- Manage hiring, training, and workforce planning
Clinical Operations (Operating Room Focus)
- Oversee day-to-day OR operations and patient care delivery
- Ensure efficient scheduling, staffing, and utilization of surgical resources
- Maintain clinical expertise and supervise OR practices
- Ensure adherence to OR protocols, sterility standards, and patient safety
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Nursing Practice Act
- Joint Commission (TJC)
- Federal, state, and local regulations
- Lead audit readiness and regulatory documentation
- Maintain quality and risk management programs
Financial & Administrative Management
- Manage departmental budgets (payroll & operational costs)
- Monitor financial performance and cost efficiency
- Develop operational reports and performance metrics
Quality Improvement & Strategy
- Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Implement evidence-based practices and process improvements
- Drive strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals
Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans
- Ensure staff readiness for emergency situations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN required)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – Oregon
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Minimum 5+ years in patient care delivery
- Minimum 5+ years in healthcare operations / clinical setting
- Minimum 4+ years in leadership role
- Strong Operating Room (OR) leadership experience (MANDATORY)
Preferred Qualifications
- PALS Certification (American Heart Association)
- ANCC Certification in relevant specialty
