Position Summary:

Geriatric Psych

Nurse Manager

 

Provides leadership & operational oversight for an inpatient direct care unit or units. Accountable for achievement of department and hospital goals in concert with other hospital and medical staff leadership.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads and oversees daily nursing operations to ensure safe, high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Recruits, develops, mentors, and manages nursing staff to build a strong, engaged team.

  • Manages departmental performance, including staffing, budgeting, and operational efficiency.

  • Promotes a culture of safety, quality improvement, and excellent patient experience.

  • Supports evidence-based nursing practice and implementation of new technologies, services, and processes.

Qualifications:

 Education/Training

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred


Licensure/Certification

 

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Alabama.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Within 2 years of hire - National leadership board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL).

Experience

  • Two (2) years as a registered nurse in Geriatric Psych and at least one (1) year nursing leadership experience.
