Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Nurse Manager to fill an opening within a non-profit organization that operates a network of federally qualified health centers focused on ensuring access to healthcare for all. They offer comprehensive services that include Primary Care, Behavioral Health, specialty care, and health education and advocacy.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BS in Nursing or equivalent Bachelor's Degree.
  • Licensure: Must have a current NYS Registered Nurse License.
  • Experience: Previous experience in nursing leadership, supervisory, or management roles within a community health center, hospital, or outpatient setting is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in staff scheduling, performance evaluation, quality improvement initiatives, electronic health records (EHR), and regulatory compliance (e.g., DOH, OSHA, CDC guidelines).
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership and team-building abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, critical thinking, organizational skills, and a patient-centered focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and medical assistants, across multiple primary care and specialty services.
  • Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure efficient patient flow, quality care delivery, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement staff schedules, assign duties, and manage time-off requests to maintain adequate coverage.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, performance evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including infection control, patient safety, and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and administrative leadership to improve clinical workflows and patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage clinical quality metrics, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and address any deficiencies or areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of nursing policies, procedures, and evidence-based protocols.
  • Investigate and resolve patient complaints, staff concerns, and incident reports in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate orientation and training for new nursing staff and ensure ongoing continuing education requirements are met.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective utilization and timely reordering.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and upper management to communicate organizational goals, updates, and feedback.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response efforts within the health center network.
