A Long Island-based health services network is seeking an experienced, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team in Nassau County as a Nurse Educator / Learning & Professional Development Specialist. In this role, the Nurse Educator / Learning & Professional Development Specialist will lead staff education and hands-on training in a non-clinical environment, supporting medical competency across a range of health-related topics.

About the Opportunity:

  • Shift: Flexible
  • Schedule: 35-hour flex, including evenings and weekends
  • Hours: Full-time
  • Setting: Non-clinical training environment

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate staff training using instructional methods such as role playing, simulations, group discussions, videos, and lectures
  • Train and certify AMAP students
  • Provide medical training to program staff based on needs and quality assurance audit outcomes
  • Deliver training on topics such as CPR, first aid, infection control, diabetes education, tube feeding, and colostomy care
  • Administer and read Mantoux (PPD) testing, and support curriculum and procedure development as needed

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Strong public speaking abilities
  • Ability to work weekends as needed

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in Intellectual or Developmental Disability services
  • Prior teaching or training experience
  • Experience with OPWDD-related training topics
  • AMAP certification experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Zoom
