Work Schedule:

90% FTE, full-time. Day shift, Monday-Friday 36hrs/week No Weekends No Holidays.

You will work at the UW Health Swedish American Hospital.

We are looking for a Nurse Communicator (Critical Care) to:

Lead critical conversations that support shared decision-making between patients, families, and the care team in the ICU.

Serve as a trusted bridgetranslating complex medical information, prognosis, and goals of care with clarity, compassion, and expertise.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate family meetings, support palliative care consultations, and improve the critical care experience.

Shape and advance communication practices through mentorship, quality improvement initiatives, and innovative care models in critical care settings.

Additional components of compensation may include:

Evening, night, and weekend shift differential

Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s Degree in Nursing. Required
  • Must provide copy of HS diploma or equivalent, or highest level of completed degree obtained. Required

Work Experience

  • 2 years of relevant clinical experience in ICU nursing. Required
  • Experience documenting patient care in an electronic medical record. Required

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current RN licensure to practice in the State of Illinois. Required
  • ACLS certification. Required
  • Bi-annual CPR certification. Required
  • Specialty certification (CCRN). Preferred
