Duties: Perform patient assessments, Be thorough and accurate in documentation of patient complaints, vital signs, current medication, and allergies. Document medications administered. · Observe and record patient behavior. · Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests. · Collect patient health history. · Utilizes the nursing process to adapt interventions to meet age-appropriate care, including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs, in collaboration with other members of the health care team. · Assist provider (MD, PA, NP) in procedures such as wound dressings, pelvic exams, laceration repairs, and care for other treatment options. · Attending to the needs of patients and visitors. · Assure patient as needed; allay fears and answer questions as necessary for the patients. · Exhibit cooperation and positive attitude toward other clinical and medical departments. · Complete incident and error forms when appropriate. · Follow procedure for authorized medication administration and narcotic control. · Communicate questions about the appropriateness of medical care through chain of command as needed. · Perform treatments and procedures as directed, which are within the individuals training and capabilities with diagnostic exam and procedures, including cardiac monitoring and care of patient using IV medications as directed by physician. · Assure that patients are seen in an orderly and fair manner, and that delays and waiting times are explained. Acutely ill and injured patients are triaged and seen first. · Initiate evaluation and care of the patient prior to the physicians arrival according to standing orders. Consult with supervisors and doctors to decide on the best treatment plan for patients. · Prepare patients for examination and assist, as necessary. Arrange for follow-up care or referral. · Complete necessary forms and logs, documents medications and patient care in a timely and accurate manner. · Arrange for the transfer of patients to other departments or facilities (i.e. Emergency Dept.) · Be able to assist the provider on duty (MD, PA, or NP) with BLS, ACLS or PALS algorithms and to contact 911 to transfer patients to the Emergency Department. · Counsel and educate patients and their families on treatment plans. · Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions

Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. · Current unrestricted Wyoming RN license. · Current ACLS/BLS/PALS certification or obtain within 60 days of hire date. · Required to practice within the framework of the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Professional Standards and National Patient Safety Goals. · Must be able to provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patients and familys diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights. · Must have the ability to work with other culturally and ethnically diverse populations. · Respect the traditional, cultural, and spiritual practices of the Wind River Reservation. · Must be able to pass a criminal background check under the Indian Child Protection Act and Family Act (P.L.101-630).
