Nurse Aide Instructor
Position Summary
Lehigh Carbon Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Aide Instructor. The instructor will be responsible for providing students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience necessary to successfully pass the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Competency Exam. The instructor ensures that nurse aide students are trained in the knowledge and skills required to provide quality care in long-term care and other healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Student Development:
\u25cf Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and ensure
students meet program objectives.
\u25cf Demonstrate and supervise nurse aide skills, including patient care, safety procedures,
and infection control practices.
\u25cf Prepare students for the certification exam by conducting practice tests, reviewing exam
content, and providing feedback on performance.
Classroom Management & Compliance:
\u25cf Ensure a safe and organized learning environment that promotes skill mastery and
professional conduct.
\u25cf Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance records, grading, and student progress
reports.
\u25cf Enforce program policies and adhere to PDE and college guidelines.
\u25cf Monitor and ensure students meet clinical hour requirements and demonstrate
competency.
Student Support & Evaluation:
\u25cf Provide individual and group support to help students develop proficiency in nurse aide
skills.
\u25cf Evaluate student performance through skills assessments, written exams, and hands-on
demonstrations.
\u25cf Offer constructive feedback and guidance for continuous improvement.
\u25cf Encourage and motivate students throughout the program, fostering a supportive
learning environment.
Qualifications:
\u25cf Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, unencumbered license in the state of
Pennsylvania.
\u25cf Have at least one year of nursing experience in a long-term care facility (nursing home).
\u25cf Must have completed a PA Department of Education-approved Teaching the Educator
(TTE) program with proof of completion/certificate on hire.
\u25cf Skills:
o Strong instructional and communication skills.
o Proficiency in clinical skills relevant to nurse aide training.
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively with LCCC staff and students.
o Organizational skills to effectively manage class schedules, records, and
evaluations.
Preferred Qualifications:
\u25cf Previous experience as a nurse aide instructor.
\u25cf Experience with adult education or workforce training.
\u25cf Familiarity with Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation standards.
Work Environment:
\u25cf Combination of classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
\u25cf May require evening or weekend hours.
\u25cf Must be able to stand, walk, and supervise students in clinical areas for extended
periods.
Licensure and Certification:
\u25cf Current Pennsylvania RN License (required)
\u25cf Teaching the Educator (TTE) Certificate (required)
\u25cf BLS Certification (required)
