Nurse Aid Technician must have a flexible schedule as work hours vary.
This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. Job Description Summary
Under general supervision from the instructor, the Nurse Aid Technician provides instructional support services through the performance and demonstration of specific and technical skill sets.
This position is responsible for preparing and maintaining laboratory materials, supplies, and associated equipment.
Nurse Aid Technician must have a flexible schedule as work hours vary.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently licensed/certified as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Certified Nurse Aide, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Registered Nurse.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of: science of nursing; learning styles; standard laboratory practices; laboratory supplies; MSDS procedures; pharmacy license requirements; inventory control.
Ability to: apply nursing practices to practical situations; develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, students, faculty, and general public; maintain confidential and sensitive information; maintain accurate and complete records.
Preferred Qualifications
Long term care experience.

Assists nurse aide students on laboratory skills during scheduled lab sessions and open lab times. Proper transfers, physical assessment, and other nurse aide skills.

Prepares laboratory for lab instruction, and maintains laboratory facilities following use.

Collaborates with nursing home faculty pertaining to laboratory needs.
Job Duty
Repairs and cleans equipment to maintain good working order. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on equipment. Collaborates with instructor, coordinator and manager to repair beds, mannequins, lights, and other equipment.

Maintains inventory. Organizes and labels supply closets. Identifies supply needs communicating supply requests to instructor, coordinator and manager; to ensure credible demonstration and delivery of instruction to students.
Job Duty
Prepares lab for use by State and National testing services that certify nursing assistants and other related healthcare jobs. Coordinates, prepares and sets-up use of Laboratory by other classes or departments.
Job Duty
Maintains confidentiality of student records and other information.
Job Duty
Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as required to meet workload demands.
Performs other related duties as required.
