NTP-LV is seeking applicants for the position of Safety Engineer . Potential candidates must have a positive recommendation from their Supervisor, Department Manager, and General Manager (if applicable) as well as the following basic qualifications:Cultivate a culture of safety awareness & housekeeping stewardshipProvide support/resources to operations, maintenance and engineering for the implementation of safety and ergonomic improvements.Understand, implement and communicate federal, state and local OSHA regulations.Develop, organize and deliver safety trainingReview, develop and implement safety policies and procedures.Maintain safety (OSHA 300 logs) recordsInteraction with regulatory agenciesAbility to travel to other Nucor locationsSafety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Minimum QualificationsExperience working with federal/state safety regulations and lawsAt least two years of experience working in an industrial environment applying safety policies and development of safety and loss prevention programsBachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering or related experience.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or environmental engineeringExperience working with federal/state safety regulations and lawsAt least two years of experience working in an industrial environment applying safety policies and development of safety and loss prevention programsExperience with safety management systems and / or OSHA VPPKnowledge of Safety, Quality or Environmental Management Systems.
