Position Overview
We are seeking an NPI Project Engineer – Electrification Components to support wiring harness componentry design control, fully on-site in Mossville, IL. Suppliers design the subcomponents for wiring harness connectors, and this role develops with those suppliers, conducts validation, and introduces new components through New Product Introduction (NPI) across the full lifecycle of the part. This role is focused specifically on electrification-type work and wiring harness connectors, working as a Project Lead supporting 1–2 significant projects as the organization moves toward electrification.
You will work internationally with team members across India and the US, with significant interface with the global team during early morning hours. This is an engineer-level role supporting the team lead.
Key Contributions & Responsibilities
- Develop wiring harness connector components with suppliers, who perform most of the detailed design work.
- Conduct validation and introduce new components to NPI throughout the full lifecycle of the part, following APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) processes.
- Develop and execute test plans for electrical and wiring harness connector components.
- Lead 1–2 significant electrification component projects, managing risk and project execution as a Project Lead.
- Communicate project status and updates to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
Team Structure & Work Environment
- Your immediate team consists of 4 people — a team lead and 3 others, with most team members based in India. You will also interface with a broader team of approximately 20 people based in the US, and work closely with suppliers who handle the majority of detailed component design.
- This is a fully on-site role in Mossville, IL. Regular early-morning hours are expected to support interface with the global team in India.

Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience
- 5-7 years of relevant experience required regardless of degree level, including with a Master’s degree. An Associate’s degree will be considered with 9+ years of experience. Candidates with more years of experience than the stated range will also be considered.
Top Skills
- Project leadership experience, including project management and risk management.
- Design experience — sufficient to understand and evaluate supplier design work for electrical components.
- Electrical components experience.
- Testing and test plan development experience.
Desired Technical Skills
- Industrial EV or automotive EV experience strongly preferred.
- Battery for EV technology experience also welcomed.
Required Soft Skills
- Works well with teams and suppliers; able to communicate effectively with management.
