Job Summary

We are seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Cardiology team in Longview, TX. This position provides overnight coverage for hospitalized cardiology patients, working collaboratively with cardiologists and the multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care in an inpatient setting.

The ideal candidate will have previous inpatient cardiology, hospital medicine, critical care, or acute care experience and be comfortable managing medically complex patients during overnight hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage hospitalized patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
  • Perform overnight admissions, consultations, and follow-up evaluations
  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists on patient management and treatment plans
  • Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, EKGs, and other diagnostic testing
  • Respond to changes in patient condition and provide timely clinical interventions
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary departments
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR

Qualifications

  • Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
  • Previous inpatient cardiology, hospital medicine, critical care, or acute care experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
