Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology is seekinga board-certified or board-eligible Non-Invasive Cardiologist to provideclinical care. This position focuses on the prevention, early detection, andmanagement of cardiovascular disease along with supporting our academic missionin research and education.  Be part of anationally recognized academic medical center while collaborating with adynamic team of cardiologists, researchers, and educators. The incumbent will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and innovation in preventivecardiology.

Position Responsibilities: 

Teaching: Participate in teachingmedical students, residents, and cardiology fellows.

Research: To support clinical research protocols as needed.

Service: Will be expected to participatein quality, safety and efficiency initiatives

Clinical: Will primarily be dedicated to cardiovascularpreventative services.

Other (for instance administrative duties, etc.): Ensure timely and accuratedocumentation of clinical care and submission of billing in accordance withorganizational policies. Comply fully with all medical staff bylaws, rules, andregulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications: 

  • MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility in cardiovascular disease
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Virginia
  • Clinically oriented and possess sufficient research and teaching experience to be eligible for academic appointment
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and work with a large multidisciplinary program
  • Must be willing to participate in teaching and fellowship programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty at VCU

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience and strong interest with lipid management, hypertension, obesity, and lifestyle medicine
