Job Summary: As a Non-Foods Manager, you will oversee the non-foods department, including household items, cleaning supplies, health and beauty products, and more. Your responsibilities will include managing inventory levels, optimizing product placement, and ensuring the department meets sales targets. You will also be responsible for leading and supervising a team of non-foods clerks, providing guidance and support to ensure departmental success.

Examples of Duties:

  • Manage inventory levels for non-food items, including ordering, receiving, and restocking products to maintain adequate stock levels.

  • Optimize shelf space and product placement to maximize sales and ensure a visually appealing presentation.

  • Monitor sales trends and customer preferences to make informed decisions about product selection and promotions.

  • Train and supervise non-foods clerks, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and departmental efficiency.

  • Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to maintain accurate inventory records and minimize shrinkage.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation guidelines.

  • Collaborate with store management and other department managers to achieve overall store goals and objectives.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of non-food products, including household items, cleaning supplies, health and beauty products, and more.

  • Familiarity with inventory management principles and retail operations.

Skills:

  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills for supervising and motivating a team of non-foods clerks.

  • Organization: Excellent organizational skills for managing inventory, product placement, and departmental operations.

  • Communication: Clear and effective communication skills for interacting with customers, coworkers, and management.
