Department: Academic Support Center Salary: $14.00 per hour
Description:
The Academic Support Center peer tutor helps students understand course content and model effective study strategies. Peer tutors use online scheduling software to report on appointments and drop-in visits, facilitate workshops, and support student promotional events. Peer Tutors are responsible for attending training and departmental meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have effective communication skills
Must have the ability to multi-task and interact professionally with students, faculty, and staff
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Canvas, and other applications
Must be a self-starter in exercising initiative
Must be willing to work mornings, midday, evenings, and weekends
Qualifications:
Must be a current UHD student and in good standing with the university
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
Earned grade of B or higher in the assigned tutorial courses
