Nocturnist Physician

St. Elizabeth Physicians | Northern Kentucky / Greater Cincinnati Region

St. Elizabeth Physicians is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to join our expanding, high‑performing hospital medicine team. As one of the region’s leading physician‑led organizations, we deliver 24/7 care to more than 500 acutely ill patients across four hospitals—and we’re looking for a nocturnist who shares our commitment to compassionate, patient‑centered care. A 2025 start date is preferred, though alternative timelines are welcome.

Role Overview

The nocturnist will work 7 pm – 7 am, partnering closely with our experienced nocturnist APP team to manage admissions and provide high‑quality inpatient care across med‑surg, TCU, and medical ICU units.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the admission process for patients requiring hospitalization, ensuring timely, thorough evaluation and safe transitions of care.

  • Perform comprehensive assessments, including history‑taking, physical exams, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.

  • Initiate and manage evidence‑based treatment plans, including pharmacologic therapies and coordination of specialty consultations.

  • Collaborate with a diverse team of specialists, nurses, and APPs to deliver seamless, multidisciplinary care.

  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing updates, education, and support during hospitalization.

  • Utilize strong clinical judgment to navigate complex medical decision‑making in the acute care setting.

  • Perform bedside procedures as appropriate; procedural skills are welcomed and supported.

What You Bring

  • MD or DO with completion of an accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency.

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in your specialty.

  • Eligibility for Kentucky medical licensure.

  • Strong communication skills, clinical confidence, and a commitment to delivering exceptional inpatient care.
