Job Description
The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. This technician is responsible for breakdowns and repair of general service production equipment and he/she must be able to quickly analyze and correct mechanical and electrical issues associated with the general production equipment. He/She will be responsible for collecting and assisting with documentation of repair details as directed by supervision or management and for preparing and setting up equipment for production after repair.
All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company and while safely working in a highly automated environment.
Responsibilities
- Completes basic breakdown and repair of general service production and Facilities equipment by quickly analyzing and correcting any mechanical and electrical issues associated with the general production equipment
- Collects and assists with documentation of repair details
- Prepares and sets up equipment for production after repair and assists and instructs others when required
- Works from mechanical drawings and electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and can work from and understand equipment manuals, specifications, and BOMs (Bill of Materials)
- Assists the Site Services provisioning group to receive, check, count, store, record, inventory, and issue parts, materials, supplies, and equipment
- Troubleshoots and determines appropriate actions for repair of facility support equipment
- Provides technical support to ensure equipment is in a constant state of readiness
- Performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) to maintain safety and increase up-time of facility equipment
- Trains Team members for assigned work area according to certification process
- Complies with all safety standards and regulations provided by the company and government
- Maintains plant equipment in a state of readiness by safely utilizing hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, and measuring/testing instruments, specialty tools, and specialty equipment as required
- Performs overhead work such as running electrical conduit, water-lines, and compressed air piping and changing or troubleshooting light fixtures, etc.
- Operates mobile equipment such as forklifts, manlifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment required to perform work duties
- Ensures team members understand and utilize training according to specified work instructions
- Participates and contributes in a team environment by working with all levels of associates and coworkers
- Performs all required duties and communicates information within shift overlap procedure
- Documents all corrective and preventive maintenance work performed throughout the course of the day in SAP or other CMMS system
- Performs equipment checks including measurements and document in SAP system in accordance to job specifications and standard work practices within assigned work area
- Adheres to all housekeeping SOPs in and around work area including 5S standards
- Operates facility support equipment within specifications in assigned work area
- Understands and complies with TS 16949 and ISO 14000 requirements
- Supports and complies with established Company’s Corporate Principles
- Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after all processes
- Completes other assignments by maintenance leadership, supervision, or management
