Shape how breakthrough hardware gets built
At Major Tool & Machine (MTM), our teams deliver CNC machining, manual and robotic welding, engineering, program management, inspection, assembly, and cleanroom services for large-scale programs across Space, Defense, Energy, Nuclear, and Commercial markets. We offer market-leading pay, comprehensive benefits, an optional 9/80 work schedule, quarterly bonus potential, and a culture built on engagement and continuous improvement.
Day in the life
You start the morning reviewing new RFQs. You build estimates in VISUAL Manufacturing, calling on purchasing to gather material, subcontract, and sublet quotations. After lunch, you sit with the cross-functional team lead to confirm technical alignment and finalize order acknowledgment. You map the part hierarchy (BOM/routing), set drawing and revision controls, and outline the control plan and quality deliverables. By afternoon, you’re drafting fixture concepts, producing process drawings, and preparing the job release. Before you wrap, you close a nonconformance with a clear disposition and RCCA, log an Engineering Change Request decision, and update the electronic job folder for post-job review.
What you will do
- Develop cost models and quotations for RFQs using VISUAL Manufacturing; coordinate material and subcontractor quotes with the materials team.
- Perform contract reviews against bids and collaborate with the CFT Leader on order acknowledgment.
- Create quality plans and define acceptance criteria and controls for each project.
- Configure and maintain part hierarchy, BOM/routing, and drawing/revision documentation.
